system mtu routing jumbo frame?

hi all,

i tried doing "system mtu routing 9000" and it doesn't accepted by my layer 3/2 3750/2960 switches, only 1500.  So it's not possible to have jumbo frame in between subnet?  I tried doing ping -s 9000 xxxxx in between subnet, it doesn't work.  It only works on one subnet.

Enabling "system mtu routing" should not be an issue.  What is the error message?

if you put "system mtu routing ?" it will reply 1500-1500, meaning you can only put 1500 on it.  so i guess jumbo frames are for the same subnet only...

Check MTU on your vlan interface

Debug ICMP and this should tell you where the fragmentation is required but the df is set
