OpenSSH for Windows

can be found here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=103886&package_id=111688

I chose the San Jose mirror for downloading since the default one didn't work for me.

Re: telnet command for ssh in dos

The answer depends on the Operating System being used at the workstation.

To avoid any Operating System limitation, I highly recommend searching for 'putty.exe' in the web. It's a small client that offers SSHv1 and SSHv2.

Putty's good , but can't be used from the command prompt. Its GUI based. If you're looking for something to use from a DOS prompt as the poster requested, OpenSSH is the way to go. If you want a GUI, putty is a better choice.

Thanks for all of your responses. I have a crt that i use which i can use for ssh devices, but i would also like to use dos prompt as a quick telnet session as well.

The operating system is XP pro.

You can also use TeraTerm, although not from dos prompt:

Re: telnet command for ssh in dos

ssh.com has a non-commercial client that has both a gui and cli option.

edit:

just checked and they no longer offer it, but it says other sites offer it.

try this:

SSHDOS might be an option. If you are in true DOS, you will need a packet driver to make it work.
