The problem is that I can not telnet to a switch, even though I can traceroute to it from my PC. Moreover, I can telnet to that switch from the switch my PC is connected to. Can not understand, where the trick is..

Hi,
If you can ping and traceroute the switch IP and have verified telnet works we can conclude the problem is above OSI layer 3.
So I would check:
1) telnet application works in the PC
2) personal FW (or the like) on the PC preventing telnet
3) FW between PC and switch
4) access restrictions for telnet in the switch (like ACL applied to VTY lines)
Hope this helps! Please use the rating system.
Regards,
Martin

1) I can telnet to any other switch, so I assume it works fine
2) FW is disabled
3) Disabled
4) No IP access lists defined

I apologize, I forgot to disable Firewall Client
