How many of the VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 can be used in the 2801, all for data?
I know here it mentions how many slots support what, but its a bit confusing, and I remember having trouble bringing up the card in slot 2 and had to move card to third slot, I'm running 12.4(25b), and need to add 2 more T1 interface for a total of 6, all for data.
• 4 slots; 2 slots support HWIC, WIC, VIC, or VWIC type modules
• 1 slot supports WIC, VIC, or VWIC type modules
• 1 slot supports VIC or VWIC type modules

Kindly refer to the data sheet below:
Cisco 2nd Generation 1 and 2 Port T1E1 Multiflex Trunk Voice WAN Interface Cards

That document does not specify if all slots in the 2801 support it, only that the card is supported in general. Can anyone confirm if it will run in slots 2 and 4?

Since I'm using these ports for data, will a HWIC-4T1/E1 run on a 2801?

Hello,
Usually the VWIC are supported on slot 2 or 3. So the VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 should work in slot 2. Could you post 'show diag' when you had the module in slot 2
And to answer your question - the HWIC-4T1/E1 is 'not' supported on 2801 router.
HTH
