Hi,
I am facing a problem where the user complains about slowness to access web applications. Network utilizations is normal but when I do a trace I get a high response time on the firt trace (1st hop) and when I try for the second time it's normal. Is it something normal?
Could it be related to the slowness?

Hi,
I believe high response time at the first time is due to the the time needed for Sending the ARP broadcast (Since it doesnt have the mac of default gateway at the cache) and get the mac and forward the packet..
If this happens frequently, plz check the switch whether its handling the mac-address-table properly. is it a intelligent switch? Howz the cache timing?
Hope this info is useful..
