Re: traceroute and ping

Seems to be related to router interface 10.100.107.1.

I am guessing this is a gateway/default route for the subnet? How big a subnet...24 bits?

I'd start with some basics by looking at the interface statistics of the 10.100.107.1 interface.

(ie: 'show interface' command)

Look at IN/OUT statistics, queue stats, CRCs and other errors. Look for defered packets and errors especially. Also pay attention to any queue drops.

Also, double check the interfaces speed/duplex settings.

Also, check the statistics on the switch port that the router interface, 10.100.107.1, is connected to.

Re: traceroute and ping

Take a look at the processor on the 10.107.100.1 router. The trace through the 10.107.111.1 router looks good.

If the router is busy ping and traceroute are low priority, so they may be delayed or dropped by the router

Are you experiencing other performance issues?
