Hi all,
I'm after a free RTP traffic generator to do some QOS testing in a home-lab setup.Would prefer a XP based software.Any suggestions?
Thanks,

For traffic generation Windows is pretty bad, especially UDP at any decent rates. If you are just after simulating one call then you could quite easily use MS Netmeeting between two PC's and make a G.711 call. Obviously you won't get any decent stats out of Netmeeting but I assume you are using this to test QoS policies on routers or switches?
I would recommend the IP SLA feature in IOS to simulate VoIP and the statistics it generates are very good.

Commercially as a company we use NetIQ Vivinet Assessor with Linux endpoints to test 'Network readiness for VoIP'.

hi!
You can use SIPp.
Alternatively you can use VLC media player (videoLan) available freely on the net to send a video file as RTP unicast/multicast on the lan. you can use the same player installed on the other PC as a reciever. Use the wizard in that for configuring the stream to be sent.
Cheers!

Hi,
You can use DITG http://www.grid.unina.it/software/ITG/
I'm using it to test QoS right now. It has a Java front. You mark traffic, send UDP,TCP,ICMP etc, and send multiple streams. Its pretty good. Install it on two PC's, use the GUI, and of you go.

Traffic Emulator by NSAuditor works quite well.

Most devices have a built-in one that generates tcp packets. Run ttcp from enable.
