Troubelshooting Hardware defective Port

hi,

i would like ask you if you have a CLI that can confirm me that the port is defective ( that the hardware about this port is defective )

I had find this commande :

show port capabilities [mod[/port]

or

sho inter capabilities module 4"

but i  cannot interpret the result of the order to confirm that there is a problem hardware
