I am seeing the TRTL throttle count increasing under a Gig interface when I do a 'show int gi7/1 summary' command on a 6509.
It is mainly multicast traffic from several sources to a single server that is going across the port The port is set as a switch port, portfast enabled and assigned to a vlan, nothing else is included in it's config.
What is causing it to throttle anything and how can I stop it doing this? The interface is running at less than 1%.

A high quantity of input queue drops indicates an excess amount of:
1) unicast traffic hitting the CPU that could not be HW switched.2) excess amounts of multicast/broadcast traffic getting directed to the CPU.Refer URL http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/473/53.shtml#Input_queue
