Trying to configure a Vlan - 2912 Switch

Good afternoon,

I have a Cisco 2912-XL-A Sw. running IOS 12.0 WC10.

Presently, I cannot create a vlan using the config t then vlan command.

I have to do it the old way (vlan database, etc).

Is there a way that I can get this switch up to the newer generation vlan command structure or am I resigned to the old way?
