I am trying to setup udld running between a 2811 router and 3524 switch without much success. Between the two devices is a fibre circuit with media convertor on either side. The router and switch are connected via the media convertors by copper. There is a option to configure udld on the 3524 but not the 2811. Is there anyway it can be turned on on the router and is there anyway it can be verified that is working?
The reason for getting udld configured on either end is to hopefully ensure that if anything fails between the two devices we can be sure that the interfaces are pulled down. Is there a better mechanism to ensure this happens?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
