Hi,
I am doing an implementation at a customer where I have to make use of Trendnet 10/100/1000 Fiber to Copper converters. The issue is the customer wants to use UDLD.
Is this a problem and if so does anyone know of a workaround?
Regards

Can you expound? Are you using the convertors in a SWITCH1>Copper>TRENDNET>Fiber>TRENDNET>Copper>SWITCH2
Configuration?

Hi,
Switch>copper>trendnet>fiber>switch.
Cat6500 Cat4948
The Catalyst 4948 does not support fiber and thus the reason for the Trendnet.

Dean,
This depends on how the trendnet device reacts to link failures. This is worth a test. Configure aggressive udld on both Switch interfaces and unplug one of the fiber optic connections tx, or rx. See if the trendnet allows UDLD detection.

Thanks. I will give it a bash.
