unable to boot to flash

Hi. I am currently using a 2600 series router and after installing a module, the router wouldn't boot the flash and just loops back to rommon. When i remove the said module, the router just boots fine into flash. The module is older than the router and i am thinking that the 2600 should be somewhat backward compatible. Please advise.

Thank you.

What WIC and what rotuer are you trying to use it with (IOS version would help as well)

I'm not sure what a router does if you try and use a card when your IOS doesn't have that feature set.

Normally the router just logs an "unknown module" message and loads anyway.

Just because a module is "older" than the router platform doesn't mean it will be supported. There are quite a few X6XX modules that aren't supported in the ISRs, for example.
