Hello all,
I want to upgrade our nexus 3548x to the current suggested image 6.0(2)A8(4a. I've had a check of the impact of installation and got following:
Compatibility check is done:
Module bootable Impact Install-type Reason
------ -------- -------------- ------------ ------
1 yes disruptive reset Forced by the user
Images will be upgraded according to following table:
Module Image Running-Version New-Version Upg-Required
------ ---------------- ---------------------- ---------------------- ------------
1 system 6.0(2)A8(3) 6.0(2)A8(4a) yes
1 kickstart 6.0(2)A8(3) 6.0(2)A8(4a) yes
1 bios v1.9.0(10/13/2012) v1.9.0(10/13/2012) no
1 power-seq v3.1 v2.1 yes
As you can see the power sequencer would be downgraded!
I've investigate some time for this but no luck!
Why would any firmware be downgraded inside a current new NX-OS?
Thx for any helpfull hints

Hi,
Yes, somethings they fix things by downgrading and not upgrading. I know, it is strange but I have seen it in the past. You can always open a ticket with Cisco and confirm that.

Hi,
The power sequence and the BIOS have their own subset of images. They don't run the same exact version of software as the system and kickstart. Most likely there is an issue with your system power sequence and the upgrade will fix that.

HI reza,
thak you for the quick reply.
Do you mean for now that the power-seq's version generally under NX-OS 6.0(2)A8(3) has an issue and cisco has downgraded to version v2.1 under NX-OS 6.0(2)A8(4a) to fix it?
