upgrade catalayst 2950 via ftp only

Please let me know how to upload IOS to catalyst 2950 using ftp or any other way through console port only (No telnet).

I don't want to upload using tftp.

For 2950 use for example

FTP

copy ftp flash:.....

oder xmodem via console calbe, but this will take a long time...

You can see the option when you are in the switch an type in

copy ?

You cannot ftp thru a console port , your only option thru the console is Xmodem . For a 2960 and if you increase the transfer rates to 115200 it will probably take 10 minutes . If you leave it at the default of 9600 you are probably looking at an hour or more.
