Hello,

I uploaded my IOS version with supervisory 6-E, version 12.2 (40) SG to a version 12.2 (53) SG2.
From what I read in the release, should also upgrade rommon version 12.2 (40r) SG1 to 12.2 (44r) SG5. In this case I don't because I have not found where is  the ROMMON version.

Can I have a problem with version 12.2 (53) SG2 and ROMMON version 12.2 (40r) SG1?
Here I attached the show ver and dir all where the file is not ROMMON version.

Hi,

You should be fine with the current version you have.  You don't have to have always the latest ROMMON version.

Hi ,

I see that you are still running 122-40.SG. I dont see that you have upgraded the switch to 12.2 (53) SG2.

In the release notes for sup6e the minimum and recommended ROMMON version is 12.2(44r)SG5 so I would definetely upgrade that as well.

These are the defects that you might run into with the currrent rommon version:

CSCsu05453, CSCsu36751 and CSCsu73446

You can find the ROMMON version here:

http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/ImageList.x?relVer=12.2%2844r%29SG5&mdfid=277241586&sftType=IOS+ROMMON+Software&optPlat=&nodecount=2&edesignator=null&modelName=Cisco+Catalyst+4506+Switch&treeMdfId=268438038&treeName=Switches&modifmdfid=28...

This show ver is before doing the upgrade.
My question is where is save the previous version and where i will copy the new version? I do not see the file anywhere.

In the release notes the file  is in the bootflash, but in my case there does not appear.
Thank you very much.

You need to download the IOS version (12.2 (53) SG2) and ROMMON version from the Cisco website to your PC and upload them to the switch bootflash on the switch and follow the procedure to upgrade the ROMMON and IOS version.

Already running version is here and you will download the new version and rommon version here.
