upgrading Cisco 6509 version from SXI5(ED)

By now it is running

IP BASE LAN ONLY
s3223-ipbase-mz.122-33.SXI5.bin

on a Supervisor Engine 32 10GE  ( WS-SUP32-10GE-3B )

That is a (ED) version.

I have been seing that the suggested version is 12.2.33-SXI13(MD)  wich is a (MD) version.

IP BASE LAN ONLY

I can n ot find if this upgrade from ED to MD is compatible.

Does anyone can help ?

I still have a question: Which is the difference between ED and MD versions ?

12.2-33.SXI5 is ED and 12.2.33-SXI13 is MD

Maintenance Deployment (MD) A Cisco software release that provides bug fix support and ongoing software maintenance.
