I need to expand my LAN. Currently i use the 2950G-24-EI. This is end of life now. So i need to buy another type to uplink to the 2950G-24-EI. My 2950G-24-EI has a GBIC card. I need a switch that comes as close to the 2950G-24-EI and still be able to uplink them. what's the best choice?

Yes..
For copper link you can use GLC-T= module on the 2960.
If you are planning to buy a 2960-TC-L then it comes with 2 SFP/or RJ45 uplinks(any one can be used at one given time).
So in effect you do not require modules at all :-)

You can buy either a 2960,3560 or the 3750 switch which can use the SFP modules for fiber uplinks
The GLC-SX-MM= is the SFP module which can be used on these switches. These use the LC connector type whereas the 2950 uses the SC type
After this all you need to buy is a SC-LC fiber cable and uplink the switches

Thanks a lot for your reply
The 2950G-24-EI has a WS-G5483 GBIC module wich is a 1000BASE-T GBIC transceiver module for
Category 5 copper wire. So i can buy a WS-C2960-24TC-L GLC-T (1000BASE-T)ans just use a Rj-45 Cat 5 cable right? (cross over?)
Thanks
