Using 3560 switch to assign DHCP IPs to Avaya IP Phones

Does anyone know how or if you can setup 3560 using DHCP to assign VLAN to Avaya 4600 series IP Phones? I have no open RJ45 wall jacks and will need to hookup the switch has a standalone plugged into the RJ45 wall plate. From there I will hook up 30+ phones directly into the switch.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but if you want to use the 3560 itself as a DHCP server you are out of luck. It does not have that capability.

How do you configure DHCP on 3560 switch

Hi

It depends upon u r planning to have any vlanson it or in ur network.

suppose u r having a vlan in it the config would like below.

interface vlan 100

ip address 100.100.100.1 255.255.255.0

no shut

exit

ip dhcp pool avaya

network 100.100.100.0 255.255.255.0

default-router 100.100.100.1

and u need some other configs if u r planning for ip phones like option 150 etc.

Thanks

Mahmood

Thanks

Mahmood
