Using both 3750's and 6509 as internal routers for the same Vlan
I currently have a 6509 that has 9 vlans and does internal routing for the following networks 172.19.0.0 - 172.22.0.0 - 172.26.0.0 - 172.27.0.0 - 172.28.0.0 - 172.29.0.0 - 172.30.0.0 - 172.31.0.0. This is working fine, I also have 2 3750 that I would like to set up as a backup to the 6509 for internal routing purposes. Do you have any documentation on how to set something like this up? I have the routing on the 6509 set up and running. The 3750 have been set up and tested. I am not sure how to get the two (6509 & 3750) in the same environment and routing together. Is that possible?
Re: Using both 3750's and 6509 as internal routers for the same
That depends on whether you want to set up your access layer for hsrp or something along those lines which allows for a backup router if the primary goes down and uses a virtual gateway for all devices.
