Using EIGRP to route across multiple paths WITH traffic ratios

Hi,

Unique? Load Distribution

I have a requirement to use EIGRP to route over two paths using ratios. The actual question is more complicated but I'll try and keep the question uncomplicated.

The primary requirement is to use a ratio for all traffic, say 5:1 across two lines. Example, for every 5 packets on 1 particular subnet, 1 -must- go over the other physical medium.

- Cannot use GLBP

- Must be based on ratio vice normal EIGRP K values etc (variance will be added ontop of ratios).

So, has anyone set up something like this or close?

First thing you need to do is to enable ip load-sharing per-packet on all the interfaces.

I believe you must computed the value of the metrics and tweaked it so that you get a variance of 5. Tweaking bandwidth is easier along with the variance command.

Also do remember to clear your routes after you tweak your values.
