Hi Ali,

Is this IP belongs to router interface or some workstations? Also can you update the subnetmask for these ip addresses?

Regards,

Ankur

Hi Ali,

I got a bit of hint from your previous post for EIGRP and with mask of 255.255.255.252 ip address 192.168.100.40 is not a valid address. 192.168.100.40 is the subnet address for its address block.

With subnet mask 255.255.255.252 valid address will only be 192.168.100.41 & 192.168.100.42

192.168.100.40 will be the subnet address and 192.168.100.43 will be the broadcast address.

Hi Ali,

I agree with Ankur on this.192.168.100.40 is not a valid host address, this is a subnet address. Valid IP's are .41 and .42 with .43 being the broadcast address for the subnet.

Hi Ali,

It depends upon the subnet mask.

Ex: 192.168.100.40/24 is a valid host, while 192.168.100.40/30 is not a valid host.

HTH, please rate if it does help,

Mohammed Mahmoud.
