I have a cisco 2950 switch connected with cisco 2621 router and proving VLAN to users. One of the users want to OSPF for redundant link. Is it possible to provide OSPF from VLAN router sub-interface; i mean form switch port? Any example will be highly appreciated.
If I have understood Fakrul correctly he has a user who is connected to a port on the 2950 switch who wants to run OSPF through the VLAN to the subinterface on the router. If the router has included the VLAN subinterface in the network statements then the router is running OSPF on the subinterface, and unless the router is configured to make the VLAN subinterface passive, then the OSPF should be sent through the 2950 with no problem. The 2950 will not participate in OSPF but will forward the OSPF packets as it forwards any IP packet.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
