VLAN IN 802.1 MODE NOT PASSING

I have a large network that uses 3560 switches with trunk interface two vlans and one native vlan. We just recently converted from routed to trunk. It's a long story!

In between switches we have a Lucent Dmx product with untagged ethernet port option. We are not able to pass vlans between nodes

switchport

switchport trunk encapsulation 802.1q

switchport native vlan XXX

switchport trunk allowed vlan XXX,XXXX

vlans are subnetted properly. What seemed to help in the lab is deleting the switchport nonegotiate command. but in the network it doesn't

I see the vlans assigned in the show int trunk to the trunk and spanning tree working. Has anyone run into a problem like that with CISCO-LUCENT DMX

if you are connecting the DMX to the 3560 and the DMX is untagged, you can't trunk and have to do "switchport mode access" and only have one vlan assigned to the DMX port.
