VLAN topology for VM environment

We're about to plan the deployment of some new virtual machines, based on vmware.

Switching is based on cat6500/sup72 running native IOS.

Virtual machines should be deployed on several VLANs.

just thinking of putting 4 netcards on server:

- 1 for management, on access interface

- 3 in L2 etherchannel, with trunking enabled.

this layout would let me have etherchannel load balancing, and multiple VLAN configuration.

1) any suggestions/improvements on proposed configuration?

2) any hint on configuration of either switch or vmware?

TIA

Ivan

Re: VLAN topology for VM environment

1) That's how we do it and have been successful with it

2) Configure as normal trunks. I don't do the VMWare side, but just trunk it and set the allowed vlans.

Hope that helps.
