Vlaning from 3560 to 4506

Is there a way to vlan my 3560's from my wiring closets to the coresponding ports on my 4506? I had a Cisco certified person come in the other night when we set up our 4506 and he was supposed to do this. Any way to check that he did?

thanks

Gary

If it is just one vlan then you would just have to make sure the connecting ports on both switches are set for the same vlan . Check with the "show interface status " command . If mutliple vlans trunked across the link use "show interface trunk" .

The VLAN is called 1 (from Network Assistant) but would it not use ip addresses? Is 1 all that is needed?

thanks

Gary

If you are just extending a vlan from 1 switch to another no ip addresses are needed , this is a layer 2 function . If the vlan needs to be routed then that is a different story .
