Voice VLAN Complete Config

Hi:

just wanna ask a an example of complete voice vlan config for the Cisco-3750 and Cisco-3560 switches.

Does Voice VLAN also requires and IP just like Access VLAN?

Example:

int vlan 10

ip address 10.220.10.254 255.255.255.0

Hi:

I can't access the link. its asking for CCO account.But ill just ask one question,if access vlan interfaces needs ip address inorder for the hosts to have it as a gateway, does the voice vlan also must have?

Hi ,

Voice VLAN is only supported on access ports and not on trunk ports, even though the configuration is allowed.

The sample config of voice vlan config is

Switch# configure terminal

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

Switch(config)# interface gigabitethernet0/1

Switch(config-if)# mls qos trust cos

Switch(config-if)# switchport voice vlan dot1p

Switch(config-if)# end

In which Valn id is Valid VLAN IDs are from 1 to 4094.vlan-id?Configure the Cisco IP Phone to forward all voice traffic through the specified VLAN.

You should configure Valn so that all voice traffic is passed through that vlan.
