We have an environmet with a 6509 in top whitch is the root for the stp and 150 operational VLAN's.
We applied vtp pruning to the domain but we did not get results.
All the VLAN's are in the non pruning state at trunks.
Has anyone had the same problem
I will appriciate very musch an answer.
Thanks ;) Reg

If you have ports in all the 150 vlans, then that vlan would not be pruned from the trunks.
Pruning for a vlan occurs only when there are no downstream ports in it.

No there are VLANs that are not active at edge switches.

Do you have any switch which is not VTP version 2 capable
I think VTP pruning can only be enabled on switches that are VTP version 2-capable, so all switches in the domain must be version 2-capable before you enable pruning.
The switch must only be VTP version 2-capable, but does not have to have version 2 enabled, to turn on pruning.
HTH, rate if it does
