Only thing close to it that I'm aware of is the Product Advisory located at:
http://cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/products_category_additional_resources.html
After you finish with a couple of initial requirements, you can check all or some of the switches and hit on "Compare" that will give you a list of "features" you may use as a checklist.
Hope it helps...

Maybe you can try to explain the benefits he will gain with switches and put aside (at the beginning at least) what switches actually do.
Some benefits are listed at:
http://cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/products_category_business_benefits.html

Thank you,
If I want to do the High Level Design, then I have to do a site survey.
So I will ask the customer about their need.
And I won't ask them with a technical language (VLAN,STP,COS...) but with a comprehensible language.
Is there a checklist somewhere about switching.
With this checklist I will be able to determine the exact technology that I will implement for them.
Best Regards

There are different series of switches. Few are layer 2 and few are layer 3. The below link will give you an idea...
