What is CLI to config encrypted password on 2950, VTY please?

I have tried the following :

conf t# password 0 7

conf t# password 7 GGGGGGGG

conf t# password 7 ?

conf t# enable secret GGGGGGGGG

sh run still give me the pw in text. Maybe becos I am still connected thru console cable. This switch is not in network yet.

Hi,

Give the command "service password-encryption" in global configuration. All passwords will be encrypted after that.
