Hi Mahesh,
Boot var has BOOT environment variable, the name of the configuration file pointed to by the CONFIG_FILE environment variable, the contents of the BOOTLDR environment variable, and the configuration register setting. The BOOT variable specifies a list of bootable images on various devices.

Hi Mahesh,
The boot variable in the 2950 switch points the image which you have in the flash and which you want to boot up with according to your boot staement for the correct image.
By deefaut the config register value is 0X0 which will pull up the image as described in the boot statement.
