For me, I always tought of it as a regular PC. Memory cache temporary information. If it is fully utilized, other process that requires the use of memory will not be able to use it properly, causing your device to have a slow performance issue. Device with slow performance might cause slow network.

Thanks

I/O memory used for packet buffer for traffic send to the CPU and at the time of 100% I/O utilization the buffer will be filled. Due to this, packets may get dropped.  Please correct if this statement is wrong .

We would like to know what kinds of packets are buffered when traffic is send to CPU? Is it actual user traffic ?

Is there any possibility of slow network performance and packet drop?

Is there any possibility of Mem Allocation failure and switch reload ?
