Re: What's difference between uptime and %SYS-5-RESTART ?

When I issue "sh ver", it is that "System restarted at 04:18:42 CHINA Sun Jun 3 2007 ",but when I see "sh log", it is that "*Sep 12 09:01:38: %SYS-5-RESTART: System restarted " .

What's difference between these ?

Hi

As far as i know %SYS-5-RESTART is an informational message which comes up during the final initialisation phase.

Once your device is booted up and all your interfaces are intitialised you will get this message and regarding the uptime its the time the router is up and functioning since last reboot.

You mean that %SYS-5-RESTART would be later about few minutes than uptime. But my router's uptime is Jun 3 2007,and %SYS-5-RESTART is Sep 12. They are very different. I don't understand what reason will reset %SYS-5-RESTART and DON'T reset uptime.
