Hello All,
Can someone please explain the difference between switch 2950 12ports and 24ports apart from the number of ports?
Thank you

No difference other than max forwarding bandwidth which is an aggregate of port volume.
? Cisco Catalyst 2950-12: 2.4 Gbps maximum forwarding bandwidth
? Cisco Catalyst 2950-24: 4.8 Gbps maximum forwarding bandwidth
Which simply means that with all ports slamming 100% a 12 port switch will push 2.4 gbps and a 24 port double that.

The first 12 ports in a 24 port switch are connected to the backplane through a single connector. Likewise, the second set of 12 ports, is connected to another single slot on the backplane. Each connector still only has 2.4 Gbps max bandwidth, Cisco simply multiplies this number by two to get their figures.
