Where can we use VTP Transparent Mode ?

Re: Where can we use VTP Transparent Mode ?

You can use transparent mode anywhere that you don't want your switches to sync up with your VTP domain. Transparent mode will still forward messages, but it won't take any configuration changes from a VTP server. If you have a workgroup switch that you want to manually configure, then you can use it there, but remember that when you make a change on the VTP server, you won't see the changes on any of your transparent switches.

Hi,

Also, to create extended range vlan( vlan id 1006 to 4094) on switch you need to enable transparent mode.
