Which length of stacking cable should I use to connect 1-st and 8-th switches of my stack?

Hi!

I have to stack 8 switches (C2960X-48TD-L). There is a cable being shipped with each of them. But these cables are only 0.5 meters long. Which length is enough, reasoning from the minimal bending radius of the cable.

I need to order the proper one.

Thank you!

There may be a special order cable (for additional length).  Or, you might be able to "interleave" (i.e. 1 to 3, 2 to 4, etc.) your switch connections.

Hi @spankin01,

It depends on how far the switch will be from each other. It the switches are one under the other in the same rack, you can buy a 3 meter cable and it would be enough.

You can connect the switches like in the attached diagram.

Don't forget to rate. :D

Thank You, Martin!

And will it be enough to use 1,5 meter cable in case of 8 switches standing one under the other?

Rgrds,

Sergey

I recommend to buy the 3M cable just in case. Again, it depends how close will be each RU from the other.

If the RUs are very close from each other you can buy the 1.5 meter for sure.
