does any of you already had this question?
imagine you don't need routing, because that's done at backbone level, why to use then 3560 switches, instead of the 2960?

Hi
The answer lies in Unified Communications rather than locking just in routing.
I need 3560 to power my IP Phones and Wireless APs.

On the surface the 2960 & 3560 do seem similar, however there are some (big?) differences.
No Layer-3 routing capability on the 2960, whereas the 3560 (all images) support IP forwarding. The IP Services & Advance IP Services also add the routing protocols EIGRP, OSPF & BGP as well as multicast routing.
PoE - The 2960 has no PoE capabilities, some models of the 3560 have 802.3af & Cisco Pre-Standard PoE.
QoS - Although the QoS architecture of the 3560 & 2960 (& 3750) are very similar the 2960 has a severe limitation when configuring ingress policers to interfaces - It can only police down to a minimum of 1Mbps (with 1Mbps increments) on 10/100 Interfaces. The 3560 allows a minimum of 8Kbps.
