Will OSPF work with 3rd party vendor

Hi there!
i've one CISCO Main Router that connects to ISP

IP WAN: 1.1.1.1

IP of ISP: 1.1.1.2
LAN IP: 10.1.1.1/24

I've created this OSPF to this router

router ospf 1

log-adjacency-changes

network 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.255 area 0

redistribute connected metric 112 subnets

redistribute static metric 112 subnets

default-information originate metric 111

and the default route:

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 1.1.1.2


Now, i want to connect inside LAN, some other MultiLayer Switches from other vendor (HP or DELL, or PLANET), that have OSPF also.

Can these other switches, work with actual OSPF on cisco router, and the main question....
WILL THEY LEARN DEFAULT ROUTE FROM THE MAIN CISCO ROUTER?

So the other vendor switches, to route via Cisco router??

Will OSPF work with 3rd party vendor

OSPF is a standards based routing protocol and that means that you would expect OSPF on the Cisco to work with OSPF from other vendors.If OSPF is correctly configured on the other devices then I would expect that they would learn the default route from your router.

Lasandro: OSPF is a non-proprietary routing protocol and may work with any vendor devices.

OSPF is a standards based routing protocol and that means that you would expect OSPF on the Cisco to work with OSPF from other vendors.If OSPF is correctly configured on the other devices then I would expect that they would learn the default route from your router.

I just tested OSPF with other vendor switch, and it worked succefully.
