Hi All,
Someone please clarify if we can etherchannel between WS-C2948G-GE-TX (cat OS) and 3560G-24TS (IOS). It sounds like 'YES' but just want to get openion from gurus..:-)
Thank you in advance

Hi,
Thank you for your reply and apologies for the delay in getting back. So I used the link
and current config...(using 2/1 & 2/2 for port-channel)
set port channel 2/1-2 10
set trunk 2/1 nonegotiate dot1q
set trunk 2/2 nonegotiate dot1q
(by default it allows all Vlans).
The port 2/1 & 2/2 were initially set for Vlan771 than 1(that we created). I have not made any connections to other switch, but the o/p:
sh trunk:
Test-2948-S1> (enable) sh trunk
No ports trunking.
TEST-2948-S1> (enable) sh port channel
Port Status Channel Mode admin Group
----- ---------- -------------------- ----- --
2/1 notconnect on 10 417
2/2 notconnect on 10 417
Sh port 2/1
Port Name Status Vlan Duplex Speed
----- ------------------ ---------- ----------
2/1 Test notconnect 771 auto auto
Same with 2/2 also (not showing Trunking)
Do I need to move the ports 2/1 & 2/2 to Vla1 before enable trunking..? or the Trunk pops up when I connect the other switch ports?
Thank you

The trunk will form once the ports become up/up after being connected to another switch.

So the Switch ports (2/1 & 2/2) currently showing being members of VLA771 at this time does not matter. Thank you for the reply Edison. Will post how it goes.
Thank you

When the switch isn't connected and it's configured as trunked, it will list being a member of its native Vlan.
