WS-C2960-24TC-L Switch ERROR:-"Failed to create nvram file syste

Hello,

I am afraid that the switch is damaged and will need replacing. There is little you can try, but two ideas, though:

First, try to erase the nvram filesystem using the command

erase nvram:

If this does not work, try the next suggestion:

On these switches, the NVRAM does not actually exist, rather, it is a reserved portion of the built-in FLASH memory. It may be worth trying to format the flash. That could possibly correct the problem. Note, however, that all important files from the flash needs to be backed up before formatting it, and put back afterwards. This especially includes the IOS image and the vlan.dat file if you have VLANs/VTP settings defined and want to preserve them.

Formatting the flash after you have backed up the files from it can be performed trivially using the

format flash:

command. Are you familiar with backing up files from the flash?

Best regards,

Peter
