I have upgraded the IOS on our WS-C3560E to versjon IOS 15.0(2)SE.

Ports GI0/36 and Gi0/37 are connected to a 1712 router.

After the IOS upgrade of the 3560 I keep getting errormessages:

    03:24:34: %AUTHMGR-4-UNAUTH_MOVE: (fast) MAC address (0011.9269.05e3) from Gi0/36 to Gi0/37

I found info on the errormessage:

Error Message    AUTHMGR-4-UNAUTH_MOVE, MSGDEF_LIMIT_MEDIUM: [chars] MAC address
     ([enet]) from [chars] to [chars]

Explanation    There was an authenticated move on the old IDB. The first [chars] is slow or fast, the second [chars] is the source interface name, the third [chars] is the destination interface name, and [enet] is the MAC address.

Recommended Action    No action is required.

If no action is required, how do I get rid of the error message? It keeps comming all the time...

Regards,

Torleif

Hi Torleif,

Did you ever have any luck getting rid of these messages?

I just upgraded a WS-C2960S to version 15.0(2)SE and have started logging the same messages.

Searching and only found what you show above, "No action is required" but I would like to get these under control. :-)

Have multiple VLANs off C2960S to 6509 and logging many messages. Might go back to 15.0(1)SE3 just to stop these.

thanks!

jim

Hi Jim,

I was not able to get rid of the messages...

Regards,

Torleif

FYI,

Looks like a bug, doing  'no authentication mac-move'  is work around to stop the messages.

best!

"AUTHMGR-4-UNAUTH_MOVE" messages are generally seen when same mac address being present on 2 interfaces. Depending on the movement/succession of the MAC address it will be categories as slow/fast. Configuring 'no authentication mac-move permit' should stop the messages.
