Hi everybody,

we have a cisco catalyst switch ws-c6509 which we have upgraded the IOS.

Anytime we switch on the switch, few seconds after it will shut down again.

what could be the possible cause of this? could it be the upgrade that we have done?

please advice.

Samson,

you need to have the console log to indicate what is the issue is but it's hard to see what causes this without any log.

most likely that the IOS does now support some of the hardware you have installed in the chassis.

whn you switch on the power make sure you have a console session running so you can capture the bootup sequence, when the switch powers down you should receive a log message on the console telling why the switch shutdown.
