Hi there,

i am having a connectivity issue with ws-g5484 gbic converter...i am using 4507 with redundant sup engine and one 4506...in both of the switches these 5484 converters are showing not connected....customer bought 25 of them but 15 of them are not working for them....5484 converter is from cisco itself and i am trying to connect to gbic itself....

these gbics when i tried on a 6509 it is working fine....please help me to soleve this issue...

sepcs of the gbic converter that we are using is

WS-G5484

part number: 30-0759-01

1000base-SX

s/n: AGMXXXXXXXX

s/n: FNSXXXXXXXX

what surprises me is that some of the same gbics are working fine with this 4507 and 4506....so i am confused to whether there is something else to be done for this to work....awaiting for a reply...

Hi

Those gbics are pretty old... the documentation shoudl tell you which models they have ben tried and tested with.

There s gbic compatibility matrix, it suggests you do just that.

Take a look at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/transceiver_modules/compatibility/matrix/OL_6981.html#wpxref113589
