WS-X4640-CSFP-E port numbering

Greetings all. Concerning the WS-X4640-CSFP-E module, I was surprised to realize when I got it that the ports are numbered 1-80 rather than 1-40. Then I saw it is actually an 80 port blade when you use half-SFP's. But we have full SFP's, so how does it do the numbering? If I use all full-SFP modules, do the even-numbered ports just go unconfigured?

Thanks,

Matt

I'll reply to my own question, now that I found the answer the "manual" way. Yes, if you use full-size SFP modules, it only activates the odd-numbered ports. Here is a snippet of "show interface status" :

Gi5/1                        notconnect   1            full   auto 1000BaseSX
Gi5/2                        inactive     1            full   auto No Gbic

Gi5/3                        notconnect   1            full   auto 1000BaseSX
Gi5/4                        inactive     1            full   auto No Gbic

Cheers,

Matt
