WS-X6148-GE-TX errors with full/1000 - fact, or fiction?

A user with nothing more than heresay as support is claiming the WS-X6148-GE-TX in a 6509 is prone to interface errors when configured full/1000 as opposed to auto/auto. No errors have been observed via "sh counters"

Anyone experienced problems with full/1000?

yes. I recommendation is 1st auto/auto. if negotiation fail for whatever reason, then hardcode. read "Best Practice" below.
