Media monitoring, performance monitoring differences

I came across medianet solution and am looking for more information on its capabilites. Also whats the difference between media monitoring and performance monitoring?

The medianet "media monitoring" consist of two distinct features that enables video monitoring: performance monitor and mediatrace.

I. Media Monitoring

     a. performance monitoring

     b. mediatrace

Check out these two blogs on CSC that describes how performance monitoring and mediatrace can be used to monitor and analyze a live video flow on the network.

Please note the term "video monitoring" is used as "performance monitoring" in the first blog.
