ASR901 vs ME3600X

Hi,

I've never worked with an ASR901 before and now I'm designing an MPLS network but with several budget constraints.

Basically what I need is 1 customer edge port and 2 MPLS ports to connect to an MPLS cloud. I would normally use an ME3600X for this, but, since the ASR901 is running the same software and also has enough ports available for lets say half the price, I was wondering if this would suffice too.

Can anyone tell me the noticable differences between those platforms?

Like:

MVPN Support.

Service Instances.

etc?..

The network is not TDM related or whatever. So basically I was just looking at the Ethernet version of this router (A901-6CZ-F-A).

Hi Armand,

The IOS for ME3600X starting 15.2-2S  and above appears to have alot of overlapping features with the IOS on ASR901 series although I'm sure there are quite a few differences left still and the Feature Navigator will substantiate this.

Are you trying to terminate pseudowires on service instances?
