Design issue OC48 onto OSR / C7600 and CBR services
I've ordered some long distance 2.5 Gig circuits (OC48) which I was going to run using POS as it's nice and simple for IP. I was going to terminate them on 7600's and push them out to the LANs via GigE.
However I've now been asked to carry an older IGX based ATM service over the same links (155Meg). These are 'real' ATM as CBR services etc.
I'd happily run the 2.5Gigs in ATM encapsulation but I've heard this is not possible (chipsets / processing ) ? Or cancel the 7600's and order some BPX's ?
In a way I want to pick out an OC3 from the OC48 - but how ? I've seen a channelised 0C48 card as an OSM - but could I take one ATM slice at 155Meg and have the rest as a single IP stream at about 2.35 Gig with this card ?
Maybe there's a software solution using ATOM, UTI etc using a non channelised OSM card.
