EoMPLS vs. VPLS (Part 2)

Hi Sirs:

Please answer each question separately:

5) Are L2 broadcast frames propagated through an EoMPLS connection? If yes, how can it be avoided? What about VPLS?

6) For an SP offering MPLS L3 VPNs now, which is easier and cheaper to implement, EoMPLS or VPLS?

7) Is it VPLS supported over GSR12000? Cisco 76xx? What IOS version?

8) If I want to use EoMPLS and 802.1Q tunneling to transport “n” non-routed VLANs from site A to site B, but I also need to make routing between some of these VLANs , Where Should I implement that routing, in the SP cloud or in some of the sites? Why? Please suggest.

Regarding your question number 7, the answer is yes. 7600 series routers support for VPLs.

I think the following document will answer to many of your VPLs questions. If the following document does not answer your questions, then let me know so that I will provide you with a little more detailed answer.
