Hi!
I have a 2950 switch with two gigabit and 24 Fastethernet ports. I am trying to reach a capacity of 200 Mbps by using etherchannel between the switch and the router. Two FE ports both at the switch and router sides are included in the etherchannel. Does port-channel load balance the traffic between the switch and the router? Or at least does port-channel start using the second FE port when the first one is saturated? Uplink to the upper carrier is connected through one of the gigaethernet ports, which means all the traffic comes from only one MAC address and goes to an other MAC address at the router side.
Thanks so much for the answers.

Yes, Etherchannel can perform load balancing.
I have a document explaining etherchannel load balancing. I believe this will be helpful to you.

Mr. Hsu,
This is very good information. Can you point me to the docs for configuring the router side of the etherchannel?
--- never mind, I found it... ---

Dear Friend
I have same problem with 3500XL switches .
Load balancing algorithm on 2950 is based on src and dst MAC.
I thnik you should use another switch like 3550
Etherechannle load balancing using 2950 switch is not good on your case
